Meadows Ryan LLP is one of the longest established firms of solicitors in Surrey, with growth by both organic means and amalgamation over the decades. Charlie Mason founded his eponymous fi rm in the early 1940’s in Surbiton and Mason & Co continued to flourish until its successful merger with Meadows & Co in 1999, when the fi rm became known as Meadows Mason.
McNamara Ryan was established in 1949.
After a period of working in-house for property developers, Peter Meadows, the Senior Partner of Meadows Fraser, began the Meadows & Co practice in Weybridge in 1976 and the fi rm has retained offices in Weybridge since then.
Peter Fraser & Co was established in 1981 in Weybridge when Peter Fraser moved from a larger practice to set up his own fi rm. Peter Fraser & Co and Meadows Mason merged in 2007 to form Meadows Fraser LLP.
On 1st February 2012 Meadows Fraser LLP and Friend and Co solicitors merged. Meadows Fraser LLP and McNamara Ryan merged on 1st October 2012 to form Meadows Ryan LLP.
Peter MeadowsSenior Partner
Peter acts for builder and developer clients in the acquisition of building land for the construction of both high and low density housing. His clients also buy and sell hotels and retail shops.
Peter also has many clients who live on the various private estates in the area and having lived in Weybridge for more than 25 years, is therefore familiar with the matters including the covenants affecting the estates and issues relating to the private roads.
At the start of his career Peter worked in-house for a public company in the building/property development sector.
After his spell in commerce Peter started the practice Meadows and Co in 1976 and subsequently the fi rm ha successfully merged with two other local practices. Peter has also been sitting as a part time Immigration Judge hearing both asylum and immigration appeals against refusals made by the Home Office.
Peter is a Notary Public. Peter enjoys rugby, golf and tennis in his free time.
Piers MeadowsManaging Partner
Piers is the Managing Partner of Meadows Ryan. Piers trained and worked with Mayer, Brown Rowe & Maw (now Mayer Brown) prior to joining Meadows Fraser in 2003. Piers’ practice extends to both property and company/ commercial matters.
Piers acts for property investors with large portfolios and assists with legal issues arising from the management of portfolios, including acquisitions and disposals of freehold properties, leases and managing disputes.
With broad experience in both commercial and residential property, Piers is also instructed by property ﬁnders and relocation agents to assist with property acquisitions by international buyers. Piers also has particular expertise on dealing with the sale, purchase and reﬁnancing of hotels. Piers’ commercial practice includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholder agreements and drafting trade agreements.
Piers is also a Notary Public. Piers enjoys all ball games, running and travel.
